Want to give back to the community this Mid-Autumn Festival? Join our Volunteer Team in distributing low-sugar mooncakes to senior citizens around the neighbourhood!
For the past six years, the HKU Volunteer Team has celebrated the Moon Festival with the elderly. This year, Lap-Chee College will continue this tradition as part of its 5th Anniversary celebrations. On the 23rd and 30th of September, the Volunteer Team needs 250 student volunteers to distribute low-sugar mooncakes and gift bags to senior citizens in Kennedy Town.
The round shape of mooncakes traditionally symbolizes unity, good fortune, and reunion. By volunteering and taking part in this gift-giving event, you will be spreading happiness to HKU’s neighbours and their community. It is also a unique opportunity to experience and see another side of local Hong Kong culture.
Every participant may select up to three preferred times and locations (centre visit or home visit). We will notify you of your session before the event.
