Hong Kong Series Committee Presents: In the Mood for Love – Journey to the Old Times
Cheongsam, also known as “qipao” when referring to females, is a type of dress that represents the 20th century of Hong Kong. But if you think that it is just an old fashion trend, then you are wrong! It is not only a representation of Chinese feminism and liberty, but also a symbol of Hong Kong history and culture.
To take you through a journey to the old times in Hong Kong, we now present to you the Lap-Chee version of “In the Mood for Love” (花樣年華). Together with other friends in the College, you can take a tour through the historic parts of Kennedy Town and Central wearing cheongsam! You can reminisce the daily life of an old Hongkonger by taking the tram to Lin Heung Tea House (蓮香樓), a well-known authentic teahouse with over a hundred years of history and have a great lunch. After the event, you can keep the cheongsam as a souvenir.

A briefing session will be held on 19th April. It is compulsory for every participant as the cheongsam will be distributed that day and details concerning the event will be given.
